Our Managing Director Nico Konrad is running for the 2026 IHK election

Mar 24, 2026

The IHK elections for Munich and Upper Bavaria are coming up - and we are delighted that our Managing Director Nico Konrad is standing as a candidate for the General Assembly and the Regional Committee of the City of Munich. As Business Location Munich (BLM), we experience every day how important strong framework conditions are for companies, the self-employed and start-ups in our city. This is exactly where Nico wants to start with his commitment.

Why entrepreneurs should get involved

The IHK election takes place every five years. Around 400,000 companies in the chamber district then decide who will represent their interests on key economic issues: from reducing bureaucracy and securing skilled workers to digitalisation, infrastructure and business start-ups. For Nico, one thing is clear: an economically strong location thrives on people who take responsibility.

Nico Konrad: Entrepreneur by conviction

As Managing Director of Business Location Munich, Nico has been helping small and medium-sized companies to work more efficiently for many years - through flexible office space, professional accessibility and customised relief in everyday administrative tasks. In this environment, he experiences on a daily basis where companies in Munich have potential - and where processes are unnecessarily complicated.

„Many of the challenges that we talk about in discussions with our customers are directly related to the framework conditions that the IHK helps to shape. That's exactly why I want to contribute my practical experience,“ says Nico.

What Nico wants to stand up for

  1. Reducing bureaucracy
Simple, everyday processes for the self-employed and SMEs. Fewer forms, more time for the essentials.

  2. Digitalisation & modern working environments
Fast, digital solutions - whether for administration, communication or services. As an operator of flex offices, Nico has first-hand knowledge of the needs of a modern, flexible economy.

  3. Munich as a strong business location
From skilled trades to tech start-ups: Munich needs reliable framework conditions, affordable workspaces and a strong voice for SMEs.

Why this is relevant for our customers

Many of the issues that Nico wants to promote at the IHK are topics that we see every day in our day-to-day business:

  • Loss of time due to unnecessary administrative steps
  • Challenges in the search for a location
  • Increasing demands on availability and flexibility
  • Need for uncomplicated solutions for start-ups and growing companies

As BLM, we have always seen ourselves as a partner for entrepreneurs - and we are delighted that Nico is now also bringing this commitment to the regional level.

How the IHK election works

The voting documents will be sent automatically by post in April 2026. Companies can either vote by post or simply digitally. This makes the IHK election one of the easiest ways to participate in the regional economy.

Working together for a strong business location

We are proud that Nico Konrad is part of this important election and wants to contribute his perspective as an entrepreneur to the IHK. Regardless of the outcome of the election, his commitment shows one thing above all: business thrives on participation.
